But the story should be told somehow
It might have just been nothing if the dealer was bluffing,
But it sure is something now

We were almost home safe from another long day
As we each began to split and fall out
Exchanged some final goodbyes we didn’t even realize
Said we’ll catch you on the other way down

Then, we heard someone saying something
Cover up in cautious disguise
Ain’t it a terror how things blow in the wind

When it first blew through, it murdered more than just a few
And we couldn’t seem to suss a plan out
It was then we conceded to the siege on our sleeves
And had to calculate another way around

Man, I hate to say, while we were digging our graves,

We’d thought we’d surfed the curse, but the affliction got worse

Them unverified real lies
